SHIFT HAPPENS
When Shift Happens, you either laugh... or start talking to the mop bucket.
Shift Happens is a savage, no-filter party game born in the chaos of first responder life — the kind of humor that bubbles up at 3 a.m. after your fifth call, two bodily fluids, and one questionable life choice.
It’s made by and for the people who have seen humanity at its absolute worst... and found a way to laugh about it anyway.
If you’ve ever:
Pulled up to a “routine call” and found someone doing unspeakable things with a traffic cone,
Said “that’s not blood” — and been wrong,
Or eaten dinner next to a crime scene because “you’re already here,”
Then congratulations — you’re about to love (or deeply regret) this game.
STUPID QUESTIONS
Is this game actually based on real emergencies?
Nope. If it were, you’d need therapy, not a deck of cards. Every scenario is fictional, exaggerated, and designed for laughs—not proper use of protocols. But, maybe, just maybe, it was somewhat based on real-life experiences from salty first responders and nurses.
Do I need to be a first responder to get it?
Absolutely not. Nurses, cops, firefighters, medics, and random drunk uncles will all laugh just as hard. If you’ve ever been near chaos (or Walmart after midnight), you’ll be fine.
Is this game safe for kids?
Hell no. This is a 18+ R-rated disaster full of dildos, drunk clowns, and questionable life choices. Play the matching game if you want family game night.
How long does a game usually last?
About 30–60 minutes (not seconds, like you’re accustomed to lasting), depending on how fast your crew plays and how many times you stop to cry-laugh or argue about whether “choking grandma” is a valid response.
What happens if I lose?
Nothing. You just have to live with the shame of not being funny enough in a game that literally rewards stupidity… so life as usual for you.
I’m a nurse/first responder and this game feels offensive to the profession — what gives?
Congrats, hero, you cracked the code: this is a parody game, not a public service announcement. If you can’t handle a few cards making fun of the dumpster fire we all wade through, maybe Candy Land is more your speed. Most of us survive the job with dark humor and sarcasm — if that offends you, shift happens, and this game clearly isn’t for you.
